The General Administration

The General Administration

An intercultural team of missionaries with pastoral and linguistic experience in the various fields of the Mission in all Continents, elected by the XIV General Chapter in Turcifal, Portugal, on November  22nd, 2012.

The General Administration, collaborating with the Superior General, Fr. Leonir Chiarello, share in the responsibility of the ordinary government of the Scalabrinian Congregation present in 34 countries and in five continents.

The Superior General and his Council were elected between October 24th and October 25th, 2018 in the course of the XV General Chapter of the Congregation celebrated in Rocca di Papa, Rome, Italy. Their term of office: 2018 – 2024.

Fr Luigi Sabbarese (General Procurator) was born in Salerno, Italy in 1962. He was ordained a priest in 1989 and has carried out his pastoral ministry in formation and parish work in Italy. At this moment he is a professor of Canon Law at the Pontifical University of the Urbaniana, working in the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signature, and also as a consulter of the Roman Curia. In addition he serves as an external judge of the first insistence for marriage annulments in the region of Lazio, Italy. He also served as the first director of SIMI (Scalabrinian International Migration Institute) and later on as its general secretary.
